10) She once auditioned for the part of Elaine on Seinfeld

Although she didn’t get that part, she was cast as Wilma Flintstone in The Flintstones, and later played another iconic role: Ellyn Warren on Designing Women. She has a degree from Princeton University: Smart studied English at Princeton, where she also did some theater work. She graduated in 1969 with a Bachelors of Arts degree. After graduation, she moved to New York City to pursue acting full-time.
